What I love about DS9 was how much darker and grittier it got than TNG. Humans in the future like to pretend they are more evolved and more sensible. But that’s only the advanced culture they live in. When things get rough enough, we’re just as violent, if not worse, as the Klingons or Romulans. Quark’s wise enough to see that.

I think what Quark is getting at is this. Ferengi are better because their honest to their own nature an who they are even their bad triats greed slavery ect.
